Blasphemous - New Game+ - Requiem Aeternam - No Flask - I went gigachad in each classic boss fight TIMESTAMPS BELOW & IN THE VIDEO TIMELINE NEW GAME PLUS (Bleeding Heart) NO FLASKS About: So to get full completion (Steam) I wanted to prove to myself that I could beat the classic bosses without flasks in a NG+ run, and so I did - with a lot of anguish in-between. Some tips: Mix and match those rosary beads, go through your mea culpa hearts and try out different prayers but make sure you have a pot of coffee ready because it's going to take a while to attempt this. Basic strategy: Health and Fervour leeching. You can heal that way without breaking the challenge, so maximize fervour leeching combined with maximized damage output because you're on the loosing end of every battle at the start unless you have honed your reflexes and you've memorized most of the bosses attack pattern, like some fights such as Exposito and Melquiades were relatively easy for me while I got stomped by Tres Angustias a few times. Beads: I used Embers of a Broken Star/Crown of Gnawed Iron mainly to get fervour for each attack (they stack), Knot of Hair for that tiny extra damage, Token of Appreciation for damage boost when all flasks are empty, Bead of Red Wax for more health, Bead of Blue Wax for more fervour, Drop of Coagulated Ink for prayer damage boost. Lastly I picked The Young Masons Wheel for a little extra movement speed. Prayers: I alternated between Saeta Dolorosa and Tiento to your Thorned Hairs depending on the fight and how it goes, or Zarabanda of the Safe Haven when fighting Exposito and Melquiades were very helpful but I tried it in the fight with Escribar and his 2nd form, only to switch it out to Seata and fight for my life to get in one more hit on his annoying face hoping I last another minute. Mea Culpa: I switched around between Heart of Oils and Smoking Heart of Incense. Tips: There's no use in equipping any of the "% x resist" beads in this NG+ mode as each hit from an enemy no matter how hard they hit, as it only takes away one health point for each hit you take from an enemy. Abuse the fact that in this mode you don't get more damage dealt to you since the NG+ mode works like "one hit - one health point" no matter what hit you so equip the Heart of Oils if you want or need it. Fights: The Fights I had most trouble with were Escribar becaus he's annoying and it is a long fight and Quirce as the fight occurs in a small arena and he can stunlock you if you're unlucky as you can see in the video. There were a few others that were a bit troublesome like Tres Angustias but not like those two from my experience. Most other fights were easy enough patterns and I simply kept spamming attacks while leeching or shielding, so abuse fervour to your advantage with the mentioned prayers. Notes: Most of this is trial and error and careful consideration of some item stats that I had to look up since the game is like "This bead bleeds tears of fire while shining bright green and you feel elated while holding it" and you have to figure it out while having it equipped lol (but that's what I love about the game though), and a lot of fighting the same boss while trying to stay calm and not rage-quit and figure out where I did wrong and plan where and how to move when a specific attack occurs.
