A classic American mega-song-hit. It was almost left out of The Wizard of Oz. But at the very last minute the producers decided to add it in. It's one of America's all-time favorites, and it was certainly Judy Garland's most notable songs. I love this song, because I feel that it has some of the most beautiful chord sequences in modern music history. This original arrangement features me it the Hammond B-3 organ. This B-3 was built in 1948 and it has no extras, no reverb, no sustain, no drums and whistles, no prerecorded soundtracks or digital gadgets it's a Hammond organ at its most basic. I studied with the famous Bill Dalton who was the founding organist of the Loew's Ohio Theater in Columbus Ohio. The Robert Morton Theater organ installed there is one of the most impressive in North America. He later served as a staff organist at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City. I say that simply to emphasize that being trained by Bill Dalton taught me how to play very smoothly. Most people struggle to get a really smooth cohesive sound out of an old-fashioned B-3. People today rely too much on reverb, sustain effects etc. There is none of that here. Everything you hear in this video is my ten fingers and two feet. No gimmicks. Very few people play like this. Styling that emphasizes smooth playing, genuine organ voicings, and no extras. Hope you will subscribe and like. This Theater style is a dying artform. As far as I know I am one of Bill Daltons last surviving students. I am in my mid 70's. Hope you enjoy my music.
