Radiation therapy, also known as radiotherapy, is a cancer treatment that uses high-energy particles such as X-rays, gamma rays, or photons to destroy cancer cells and early-stage malignant tumors. In fact, over 50% of patients usually undergo radiation therapy as part of their cancer care. However, just like all other medications, the therapy has some side effects, including radiation burns and skin irritation (radiation dermatitis).
