MegaMan's Slide ability was a request made a long while back by someone in my YouTube comments. It's been on hold until I finished the series because the slide mechanic isn't in MM1 which is what I modeled the series after. The time has finally come and here it is. He can slide in the open, in between grounds, take damage during, and exit sliding by jumping, changing direction, and colliding (no entry or he doesn't fit). I even included his little dust cloud effect animation when he starts the slide. Now keep in mind I haven't tested his box collider size in a 16x16 block tilemap environment so it may require an adjustment but that isn't difficult to do. I've stripped out a lot of the dependencies so the PlayerController can operate standalone and for the sake of simplicity I also removed other aspects like the shooting, throwing, taking literal damage, ladder climbing, teleporting, etc. If you go to my GitHub for the tutorial series you can grab the last project #40 and do a diff against this project to see what's missing.
