Ford F-100 Air Ride Build: Episode 29 – Rear Fender Progress, Bronco Tailgate Plan & Custom Strut Tower Structure 📦 Get Your Own Revell FD-100 Kit: https://amzn.to/48md6kV 🧲 Starbond CA Glue – 10% Off: https://bit.ly/3kPESNt (Code: TCTV10) 👉 Catch Up on the Series: • Ford FD-100 Model Truck Build Series Welcome back to the workbench where we try to make things — and today we’re continuing the custom Ford F-100 build using Revell’s first design kit… just not exactly the way the instructions intended. If you’re new to the series, there’s a playlist link below so you can get fully caught up on all the fabrication and custom work shaping this truck. This episode covers progress on the rear fenders, decisions about how the Bronco elements will integrate into the back of the truck, and some structural planning for the front suspension setup. There’s also a few design decisions that still need to be made — so your feedback will help shape the direction of the build. 🧰 In This Episode 🔧 Quick update on the latest supplies from Starbond CA Glue 📦 New packaging kit with extra applicators, caps & clog prevention tips 🛞 Finishing touches on the first widened rear fender ✂️ Preparing the second donor fender from a spare kit 🛻 Planning Bronco tailgate integration into the F-100 bed 📏 Evaluating rear bumper fitment and possible narrowing 💡 Brainstorming options for brake lights and tail light placement 🧩 Considering frenched Bronco tail lights into the rear fenders 🧱 Finalizing Bronco grille and front cab integration 🪒 Removing molded wiper blades for separate Bronco replacements 🎨 Cab bodywork nearing completion with primer and fine sanding 🛠 Beginning custom front suspension structure planning 📐 Building chassis reinforcement using styrene frame extensions 🔩 Designing internal structure to support the strut towers 🧠 Mocking up steering rack location and front suspension geometry 🔊 3D printing speakers and brake booster/master cylinder parts The rear of the truck is starting to take shape with the widened fender nearly complete. The second side is ready to be grafted in so both rear wheels will have the clearance needed for the ultra-low stance. Up front, the Bronco grille integration is essentially finished and the cab is moving toward final primer and smoothing. The molded wipers have been removed and will likely be replaced with separate Bronco pieces. Attention is now shifting toward the chassis, where custom styrene structure is being added along the frame rails to create support for the strut tower setup and front suspension components. The goal is a fully detailed show-style chassis that matches the finish quality of the body. 🧠 Workbench Question • Should the Bronco tail lights be frenched into the rear fenders? • Keep the bumper lights… or move everything to the body? • Is the Bronco tailgate integration the right move? • Does the strut tower structure idea make sense? Drop your thoughts below — this build continues to evolve with your input. There’s still plenty of fabrication ahead, especially with the second rear fender and the front suspension structure. Once those are locked in, the truck will be ready for full mock-up before paint.
