Lots of good things to say for this lightweight champ! I think its the lightest stove in its class of this particular style, being made mostly out of titanium. It allows me to use a canister in areas where open flame is not an option, and most importantly, allows subtle flame control for actual cooking in the backcountry. Its not much heavier than an alcohol stove kit, (in fact lighter than some), and offers ten times the flexibility of cooking, and a far greater range of safety. I did have to crimp the ring holding the burner grill onto the base with a pair of needle nose pliers as it popped off on the first cooking test, but this instantly fixed that issue. I do wish the pot stabilizer arms had a bit more friction to stay in place but of course when your pot is on it, its not an issue. The mesh bag is NOT suitable for putting the stove inside your Ti or nonstick cooking pot as it WILL poke through the mesh and scratch your pot. (Get a better stuff sack for it, or I use a screw top container). The regulator dial does have a very, very slight amount of 'creep' when you release the dial, and it raises the flame very slightly, but its not a deal breaker. I have a feeling this will rectify itself with a bit more use and break-in time. It puts out an immense amount of heat, allowing me to boil 2 cups of water in just over 2 minutes. (Try doing that with a standard pop can style alkie burner). It folds up nicely but I wish they had used an older style from the Scorpion designs where the legs would lay flat for even greater packability. Yes, this is a critical review but Olicamp usually makes high quality items and I think with just a little more engineering they could have the perfect Ti backpacking canister stove. The price is quite a bit higher than most stoves in this class, but its Ti, so its a trade off. Check out my review video for a demo and overly detailed review.
