A rainy day in Queenstown greeted us with dramatic winds, grounding our incoming aircraft and gifting us an unexpected extra day in New Zealand. Virgin Airlines came to the taking us back to Melbourne on a journey full of surprises. Buckle up and join us! The relentless rain left its mark on the taxiing and takeoff views, casting a misty haze over the window. But patience paid off with an unforgettable moment: an epic breakthrough above the clouds. As we soared over New Zealand’s southwest coastline, the rugged beauty unfolded beneath us, a perfect farewell. Arriving late into Melbourne, our view through the worn aircraft window was tinged with a cinematic graininess. Yet, the charm of the city persisted. Flying over Melbourne from south to north, we were treated to a sweeping view of the eastern suburbs and a striking glimpse of the CBD. A smooth landing capped off our whirlwind adventure.
