Morel Mushroom Hunting Georgia 2017

Well, it's morels mushroom hunting season here in Georgia. The wife and I were able to get and and find several new patches of morels and despite a cold front that moved in after the rains, we were able to get some yellow morels and a few black morels as well. One of the patches featured in this video were found in a flood plain near a creek. We were about 100 yards from the actual creek bank. We were focusing on ash tree, hackberry trees and privet. Most of the morels we found were in area with breaks in the above canopy which allowed more sun to get to the forest floor, thus warming those sections quicker. The last patch featured in this video is nowhere near water, however, when it rains, this section of forest is inclined to flood and the soil does have a sandy consistency.
