Strapworks has three different widths of sports belts: 1-inch, 1 1/2-inch and 2-inch. The 1-inch wide style does have some limitations to take into account, as this black plastic cam buckle is only compatible with a lightweight polypropylene material. If you use a material that is any thicker, the cam buckle will not close and you won't have a secure seal. Luckily, Strapworks has lightweight polypropylene available in 27 different colors, so you still have plenty of options to choose from. The 1 1/2-inch wide style allows us to use a heavyweight polypropylene material and still get a nice secure seal on the cam buckle. The 2-inch width really shines when it comes to versatility, as it can also use flat nylon or picture quality polypropylene while still getting a nice secure seal on the buckle. The flat nylon comes in 25 different colors while the patterned polyester has hundreds of styles to choose from. Now let's look at the different types of stitches used on the sports belts from Strapworks. On the 2-inch version, we used a box X-style stitch because we have a wider strap to work with, so we can opt for this stylish and strong stitch option. For the 1-inch and 1 1/2-inch styles, we used a bar tack stitch. This stitch is great on more narrow straps because it takes up minimal space, requires a very short tail and is still just as strong as the box X-style stitch. These sports belts are handy for much more than just holding up your pants. Next time you go camping, try using a waterproof sports belt to secure your sleeping bag to your backpack.
