Amazing duo, amazing sound, amazing song....thought I'd try and capture that monster bass timbre and have some fun To avoid confusion - the floor tom pad rim triggers the china cymbal I realized I played the end of the first verse incorrectly, oh well... As far as the sound: No analogue pedals here, all was done in the box - The low bass sound is DI with a lot of slow attack compression, plus an envelop shaper to boost the transients and a band-pass EQ between 60 and 420 Hz. The center high bass is gated to remove noise, and then pitch shifted with Cubase's stock SoundShifter, then routed to a Big Muff emulator that goes to a Vox AC30 emulator, and finally EQ at will, with a low cut at about 400 Hz. I tripled the recorded bass track, panned the additional two left and right and moved one backwards and one forward a few milliseconds to achieve the fake stereo effect. This side bass has instead the Bogner Überschall emulated amp and no Big Muff. Thanks to Mark Rainey for help with filming And thanks for watching!
