In 2010, Balaaj’s father, Arif Amir, also known as Tipu Truckanwala, was assassinated upon his return from Dubai at Lahore Airport. Recently, Balaaj attended a friend’s wedding in a private housing society in Lahore, accompanied by his security detail. During the event, a photographer, disguised as a guest, attempted to approach Balaaj multiple times. However, his guards thwarted the photographer’s efforts. Eventually, the photographer managed to get close to Balaaj while still in disguise. Suddenly, he revealed a concealed firearm and fired at Balaaj. In response, Balaaj’s guards also opened fire, fatally injuring the assailant. Unfortunately, before being neutralized, the attacker had already fired several shots into Balaaj’s body. Balaaj was rushed to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore but succumbed to his injuries. The police have filed a case regarding his murder. Balaaj’s brother, Amir Musab, has accused two individuals, Khawaja Tariq (also known as Tefi Butt) and Khawaja Aqeel (also known as Gogi Butt), of being responsible for the attack. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are actively searching for both suspects. The feud between the Truckanwala and Butt families began with a minor altercation and a physical fight. However, it escalated into a deadly rivalry that claimed lives over the years. Both families have a rich history, including renowned wrestlers like Nabi Bakhsh. The legacy of this feud continues to haunt Lahore’s Shah Alam Gate area, where the Truckanwala family resides.
