Today I wanted to share my experience using the vi vii° I progression in the scale of G (major). We have e (minor) with a sad triad, e, g, and b, because these notes are the root, 3rd, and 5th of the scale. There is a major 3rd interval on the bottom and a minor 3rd on top. This also has a perfect fifth from e to b. The progression could start with the leading tone of the triad, f#, a, & c. These are simply minor 3rd with a minor 3rd on top. This makes the fifth diminished and leads to instability. We can go to the tonic triad (I) , with G b, & d or the submediant degree (vi) ,e ,g, & b from the leading tone (vii°) I know you can do this! Yes, you have dreams of writing songs just like me!
