Dr. Alangaden is Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine and Program Director of the Transplant Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program. Additionally, he serves on the Henry Ford Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Antimicrobial Subcommittee. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency as well as his Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals. Before joining Henry Ford Hospital in 2012 as senior staff, Dr. Alangaden was Director of Infection Control and Epidemiology at Karmanos Cancer Institute as well as Harper University Hospital & Detroit Surgical Hospital. Dr. Alangaden has published extensively in the field of infections in immunocompromised hosts and healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). His research interests are the epidemiology and management of infections in immunocompromised hosts and surveillance and prevention of healthcare associated infections.
