Coming up, we’re counting down the Top 10 television theme songs from the 80s... Songs that were at the top of their game back in the day, and still hit you in the gut with a potent punch of nostalgia whenever you hear them. Some of these you’ll recognize from the radio like the theme from The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not) because they became major hit singles. Others like As Long As We've Got Each Other sparked some behind-the-scenes drama and were almost axed before they got the green light. And a story that will blow your Mind… one of the most beloved TV Themes Ever, The A-Team, used an intentionally ripped-off riff from Cream’s Epic Rock Classic Sunshine of Your Love, with the composer freely admitting it. Find out what song and if it landed him in hot water. What will be #1…Let’s take a time machine through the golden age of television when theme songs were still king. It’s the ultimate trip down memory lane… NEXT on Professor of Rock. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Executive Producer Brandon Fugal Honorary Producers Holly Hammet, Remnarc, Kevin riley, Paul Moore II, CharleyAnne ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out my Hand Picked Selection Below Professor's Store Van Halen OU812 Vinyl Album https://amzn.to/3tLsII2 The 80s Collection https://amzn.to/3mAekOq 100 Best Selling Albums https://amzn.to/3h3qZX9 Ultimate History of 80s Teen Movie https://amzn.to/3ifjdKQ 80s to 90s VHS Video Cover Art https://amzn.to/2QXzmIX Totally Awesome 80s A Lexicon https://amzn.to/3h4ilrk Best In Ear Headphones (I Use These Every Day) https://amzn.to/2ZcTlIl ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check Out The Professor of Rock Merch Store -http://bit.ly/ProfessorMerch ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check Out Patron Benefits http://bit.ly/ProfessorofRockVIPFan Help out the Channel by purchasing your albums through our links! Driven out of fashion by shorter and shorter attention spans, on many programs today you get the title of the show and not much more. But theme songs back in the 80s knew how to draw viewers in before the show ever got started. And they were the heart of a show’s identity. Some even doubled as huge pop chart hits. And today, we're bringing you the best of the best, counting down the ten greatest TV themes of the decade. So, coming in at #10, it’s the good old boys Bo and Luke Duke and the theme song from The Dukes of Hazzard. Airing from 1979 to 1985, The Dukes of Hazzard was a high-octane comedy-adventure series that became a pop culture phenomenon. The show followed Bo and Luke, two fast-driving cousins who spent their days outwitting corrupt Hazzard County officials like the greedy Boss Hogg and Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Behind the wheel of the General Lee, an orange 1969 Dodge Charger, these two modern day Robin Hoods got some help from the family patriarch Uncle Jesse, and cousin Daisy Duke… whose signature short shorts went down in pop culture history. The show’s mix of comedy, car chases, and Southern charm made it a ratings powerhouse and among the top-rated Television series of its time. The show's theme song, “Good Ol’ Boys,” performed by Waylon Jennings, became just as iconic as the series itself. Jennings not only sang the theme but also served as the show’s narrator, known as “The Balladeer.” The version released as a single in 1980 featured a slightly different arrangement, with extra verses and an inside joke about how producers never showed Jennings’ face on TV. “I'm a good ol' boy, you know my mama loves me, but she don't understand, they keep-a showin' my hands and not my face on TV.”The song became a massive hit, reaching #1 on the US Country chart and climbing to #21 on the Hot 100. At #9 I’ve got the theme song from Tony Danza’s post-Taxi gig: Who’s the Boss?.Premiering in 1984, Who’s the Boss? was one of the defining sitcoms of the 80s, running for 8 seasons...
