SC State 1890 & OCSD Sign MOU to Expand AgTech & STEM at Edisto Elementary

On February 9, 2026, South Carolina State University 1890 Research & Extension (SC State 1890) and the Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) formalized a new agreement during a ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing at Edisto Elementary School. The partnership strengthens support for the AgTech Magnet Academy by expanding hands-on agricultural education, STEM learning, and career awareness opportunities for students. As part of the ceremony, SC State 1890 presented a donation valued at more than $4,200 — including nearly eight tons of soil, compost, and mulch, along with raised garden beds, shrubs, plants, gardening tools, and student-friendly supplies.
