THE WREKIN | THE MYTH AND BEAUTY - GIANTS or VOLCANOS?

The Wrekin in Telford | Shropshire has always been a huge tourist attraction... Some say that a giant made the Wrekin and most think the Wrekin is dormant Volcano... The giant Myth comes from an old tale: Once upon a time a giant decided to take revenge on a near by town called Shrewsbury, around 12 miles away... On his route, he came across a local cobbler and asked him to help fix the pain in his feet... The cobbler asks " Where are you heading with that large shovel of mud on your shovel?" The giant replied " I'm heading to Shresbury to dump my mud in the river, so that the town will flood" (a little extreme but a fun fact) Anyway... Back to the story... When the giant left the cobbler his feet begun to start hurting even moreso... the giant decided - enough is enough "i cant go on!" So he decided to dumb the large shovel of mud, where he stopped.. Now creating a huge hill - today known as the Wrekin FACT - The wrekin is a dormant volcano with an obvious vent to the side....
