From Obsession to Murder: South District Police Nabs Lover Who Killed Woman Over Her Past” KEY HIGHLIGHTS: Blind murder case solved within 24 hours by South District Police through intensive CCTV tracking, cyber surveillance, and human intelligence. Over 500 CCTV footages covering nearly 50 km were analyzed, leading to the identification and arrest of accused Himanshu S/o Harish, a gang-linked criminal from Haryana. Technical analysis helped trace the suspect’s digital footprint, revealing his obsession with the life style of Gangsters, active in Haryana. The accused, after committing the crime, fled using multiple routes, discarded his phone, and hid in Hansi (Haryana) but was tracked and apprehended through coordinated surveillance and field intelligence. INCIDENT OVERVIEW:- On the evening of October 7, 2025, a PCR call was received at PS Kotla Mubarakpur regarding bloodstains seen on the staircase of a house located at C-290, Pratap Gali, Nanak Chand Basti, Kotla Mubarakpur. Acting promptly, Local police staff reached the location and found blood marks on the stairs and near the first-floor door, which was locked from outside. Upon opening the door, a young woman (approx. 25 years old) was found lying inside the room in a pool of blood, with visible injuries on her face and neck. The room appeared disturbed, with signs of a possible struggle. The deceased was later identified as Ms. Sakshi Gurung, a tenant residing on the first floor of the said premises. The scene was immediately secured, and FSL and Crime Teams were called to inspect the spot. Various exhibits, including beer bottles, bloodstained clothes, and a knife handle, were recovered from the scene. The body was shifted to AIIMS Hospital for medical examination and preservation. The deceased, Ms. Sakshi Gurung, aged about 25 years. She was an orphan, having lost both her parents a few years ago — her mother passed away during the Covid-19 pandemic, and her father expired one to two years thereafter. She was the only child of her parents and had no close family members residing in Delhi. Initial enquiry indicates that the case appears to be a homicide, and a case under Section 103(1) BNS (Murder) has been registered at PS Kotla Mubarakpur. Investigation was taken up to ascertain the exact sequence of events and identify the perpetrator(s). TEAM:- As per gravity of crime multiple teams have been constituted under the supervision of Sh. Technical surveillance Unit/SD: HC Ramjeet & HC Suresh Investigation focus: During the course of investigation, no eyewitnesses were found at the scene, and no immediate clue about the suspect emerged. The crime appeared to have been executed with precision. However, relentless examination of CCTV footage from nearby areas provided the first crucial breakthrough. One individual was seen descending hurriedly from the building of the deceased around the time of the incident. The CCTV analysis confirmed the presence of the accused with the deceased for last 2 days from the date of incident by capturing them in one frame also. Owing to poor night visibility, the footage was unclear, but it offered the first trace of the suspect’s escape route. Acting swiftly, police teams began backtracking and tracing the suspect’s movement across multiple CCTV networks along various routes. The deceased’s mobile phone was also missing, indicating that the accused had taken it along to mislead investigation and delay identification. Over 500 CCTV footages covering more than 50 kilometres were meticulously scanned. The suspect’s blurred visuals were spotted moving towards Outer Delhi, and subsequent analysis revealed his escape trail leading towards Rohtak, Haryana.
