Day 1 of PCA 2025 - Café in hand, we stepped onto the show floor for a day packed with highlights. Drew Estate got things rolling with their Tour de Liga activation, where Izzy Woods, Pedro Gomez, and Master Blender Willy Herrera guided us through each of the Liga wrappers. Villiger’s Yasserth Reyes then revealed the backstory behind the Villiger Gran Reserva, while Oliva/Nub’s Nick Zaglifa and Laure Boisbouvier explained the recent packaging and digital refresh for the Nub line. Les Fines Lames’ Pierre Jourdan introduced the new Le Feu – RS lighter, and Rocky Patel unveiled the Rocky Patel 30th Anniversary, 30th Limited Edition, and the Year of the Snake. Arturo Fuente’s Manny Garcia treated us to an early look at their new limited editions, including the Don Carlos 90 Años. Casa 1910’s Master Blender Manolo Santiago showcased the uniquely packaged Mexigars. Over at Tatuaje, Pete Johnson introduced the Corojo PCA Edition and jokingly reminded Erik of the Honduras trip he missed—something Jamy thoroughly enjoyed. Jandy Garcia of My Father presented the My Father Blue and the Don Pepin Garcia Series JJ 20th Anniversary, while Altadis walked us through the Romeo y Julieta 150th Anniversary and other releases, including Trinidad and H. Upmann. The OpusX Society took the stage with their latest project, Gold and Bullet, featuring a special appearance by Carlos “Carlito” Fuente. LFD’s Litto Gomez led a component tasting for the newly released Suave. Plasencia revealed Alma del Cielo by lowering the new line from above, followed by a performance from R&B artist October London. ST Dupont x Fuente showcased their latest collaboration, and the evening wrapped up with the Davidoff Soiree at the Lakehouse—a classy gathering for media and appointed Davidoff retailers.
