Take a tour of DHMC's Birthing Pavilion in Lebanon, New Hampshire, a comfortable, private, and calm place to give birth. You will stay in the same room from the moment you arrive through labor, birth, and recovery. Our nurses and your obstetrician, midwife, or family medicine provider will make sure your labor and delivery are as comfortable as possible. We have two large spa tubs available for you and your birth partner to help ease your labor. The Birthing Pavilion includes two operating rooms for cesarean (C-section) births. Doctors and anesthesiologists are available at all times. The nurses in our Lactation Clinic can answer any concerns you may have about breastfeeding. SECURITY After birth, we attach ID bands to your baby's hand and foot, and a security tag around his or her ankle, designed to trip an alarm if it comes near the pavilion's exit. OUR ROOMS Each of our 18 rooms has plenty of space for rocking, sleeping, eating, and getting to know your new baby. Your private room has a tub and shower, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, and a table and chair for meals. A family member may stay overnight on the fold-out bed in your room. INTENSIVE CARE If your baby needs intensive care, he or she will be cared for in the Intensive Care Nursery (ICN), which is near the Birthing Pavilion. The ICN takes care of premature babies and those with issues such as infections, neurological problems, surgical needs or birth defects.
