IS IT WORTH OWNING A CAR IN LONDON? (2021) A Dedicated Movie This movie is about the realities of owning a car and weighing up the pros and cons to find out whether it’s actually worth owning one. Music: Moshi Moshi Music - Casiokids - Det Haster! / casiokids-det-haster ********************************************************************** Hello and welcome to my channel. I make short films on YouTube. A visual representation of my perspective on life. Why create short films? It took me a few years to figure out, but when I did, the feeling was like no other. I had experimented with every kind of job you can imagine, well not EVERY kind, but enough to know that my only passion in life hid behind a camera lens that lay tucked away at the back of my cupboard. I've always been convinced that the world consists of two types of people. Those who want to make money, and those who simply want to make stuff. In other words you're either driven towards the idea of financial freedom or the idea of expression through art. Only a rare handful of individuals have found the perfect balance between the two, however I'm one of those who sit comfortably on the spectrum consisting of a life to CREATE. That's not to say there's anything wrong with making money or expressing the desire to make as much money as possible. If that's what brings you fulfilment and happiness then you've cracked one of life's most difficult objectives. However, this man-made "thing" that most people end up chasing for the entirety of their lives became my single biggest enemy. Money has always been a huge barrier in my persuit to dedicating a life of expressive filmmaking (as most filmmakers can relate), but thankfully my purpose and vision has always remained consistant. If I could spend each and every day creating pieces of content for the purpose of telling a compelling story whilst expressively giving others my unique perspective on life, I would live a completely fulfilling life. But the reality is far more complicated and the truth is that only a handful of individuals are blessed with the time and freedom to use their 24 hours however they want, without the distraction of money. In short, I create short films because I have to. I create short films because It is something that is intrinsically hardwired into my subconscious. We all have goals and aspirations that come from a place of PURPOSE. What's my purpose? To tell stories through film that help encourage others to view life through a different lens. My style of filmmaking... My style has changed drastically over the years with a number of individuals being responsible for what my work looks like today. However, whilst learning my craft in the early days, I was introduced to a number of different filmmaking styles and concepts. Most of which I would try to replicate by spending hours making my content look as near to "perfection" as possible. Frustrated and fed up with my lack of originality, I soon realised the extent of disapproval I had towards certain filmmaking "norms" that most follow. I wanted to pave a new path for myself that swayed away from the traditional route. This new path would scrap the emphasis on pretty asthetics for a bold, unorthadox style where the STORY would take centre stage. Today, each and every single one of my films follow the 3 structure storytelling model (setup, conflict, resolution). Throughout these 3 stages I focus on developing the story by bringing captivating footage and an unconventional style of editing together to create an alternate interpretation for the viewer. I stress less on the visual layout of my work and focus more on how much impact the visual layout creates. The gear never matters, nor does the amount of experience someone has with it. All that matters is the execution. I always strive to stand out with my execution. The competition never matters. Nor do their pretty B-Roll footage or stunning drone shots. All that matters is the execution. Once again, I always strive to stand out with my execution. I compete only against myself.
