30 day hair detox | Week 0| No Raw Oil, No Raw Butter| Natural hair

Hey y’all! Welcome to the my channel and thanks for comin’ to hang out with me! My name is Deidre. I’ve been natural since 2012. I love to use ayurvedic herbs in my hair care and often find my self spending 2-4 hours on my hair. Before the detox I used mostly products from a small business that contained ayurvedic herbs, prepooed, deep conditioned, and twisted my hair every wash day- pretty much the complete opposite of the 30 day hair detox methods. This method is popularly known for not being able to use raw oils and butter on your hair for 30 days. Hopefully my first wash hour will educate someone on what NOT TO DO and remind us that we all start form somewhere. Like I mentioned in the video, this is only week 0 and This video isn’t the best demonstration of the technique. As I learn and research more about the method, I’m excited to see how my technique improves and how my hair changes over these 30 days. The rules to the 30 day hair detox: 1. There are NO RULES a. This challenge won’t tell the exact products you have to use on your hair. The book Wash Your Damn hair says, “Be open to researching ingredients, observing what products consistency work for your desired styling affect, and know that you will have some style fails from time to time” 2. The only requirement are to cleanse, condition, and style on a regular basis. a. The cleanse, condition, and detangling step is what they consider the “wash hour process” not including the styling process. Not clarifying is not recommended every week, unless you create a lot of sweat or sebum on your scalp through out the week. 3. Stick to a solid and consistent cleansing and condition routine. a. It’s recommended to wash your hair every 5-10 days 4. Don’t over think the process 5.
