The BEST Way to Spend an Afternoon on Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast - Playa Punta Uva

Playa Punta Uva was by far the biggest highlight of our visit to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. After our visit to Punta Uva earlier in the week, we made it our mission to get a closer look at the small tunnel cut out by the waves that we had spotted with the drone. First up was seeing how close we could get via kayak. After getting a decent view from the sea, we decided to head up river for some calmer waters. After a very short trip up river, the thought of coming across a crocodile (which can be found in the river, especially further up stream) scared us off of going any further. Not content with seeing that tunnel from only the water, we decided to hike out to it via a beautiful jungle trail. After a short hike and a little climbing we reached a truly spectacular lookout point! After spending some time there enjoying the beginning of sunset, we headed back to shower and grab some dinner.
