Travelogue: Journey from Kharian Cantt to Chiporsun Valley As a Pakistani with roots that reach beyond our borders, my adventure began in Kharian Cantt, where I set off in my Mitsubishi Pajero, eager to explore the breathtaking landscapes of northern Pakistan. The journey promised stunning views and unforgettable experiences, and it did not disappoint. First Stop: Batakundi My first stop was Batakundi, a picturesque village nestled in the mountains. The fresh air and serene environment instantly rejuvenated me. I wandered through the village, soaking in the local culture and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was a reminder of the rich heritage that defines Pakistan. Next: Minapin Continuing my journey, I arrived in Minapin, where the majestic Rakaposhi peak loomed in the background. The drive was thrilling, with winding roads offering glimpses of lush valleys and towering mountains. I paused to capture the stunning views and appreciate the natural beauty that surrounded me. Onward to Hunza As I reached Hunza, I was mesmerized by the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. The valley, famous for its terraced fields and the historic Baltit Fort, felt like a treasure. I explored the area, tasting local delicacies and engaging with the warm-hearted locals. Their hospitality made me feel right at home, deepening my connection to my heritage. Sost: The Last Town Before the Border After Hunza, I made my way to Sost, the last town before the Pakistan-China border. The rugged terrain and the unique atmosphere of Sost were intriguing. I stocked up on supplies and took a moment to appreciate the lively spirit of this border town. Arrival at Chiporsun Valley Finally, I reached Chiporsun Valley, a hidden gem that captured my heart. Surrounded by towering peaks and pristine nature, the valley was perfect for relaxation. I spent time exploring its beauty, embracing the serene atmosphere and breathtaking views. Skardu: Gateway to Adventure On my way back, I stopped in Skardu, the gateway to some of the world’s highest peaks. I visited the mesmerizing Shangrila Resort, enjoying the stunning vistas of surrounding mountains and lakes. Skardu's blend of adventure and tranquility was a highlight of my trip, reinforcing my love for this incredible country. Cold Desert in Shigar Next, I ventured to the cold desert in Shigar. The stark contrast of the desert against the mountains was surreal. I reveled in the unique landscape, taking photographs and reflecting on the vastness of nature. It felt like I was discovering a piece of my identity in this diverse land. Return Journey: Deosai National Park On my return, I drove through Deosai National Park, known for its breathtaking plains and diverse wildlife. The open landscapes were mesmerizing, with wildflowers blooming in abundance. This journey through the park was the perfect ending to my adventure, deepening my connection to the natural beauty of my beloved Pakistan. Throughout the trip, I was continually impressed by the bravery and capability of my Mitsubishi Pajero. It navigated the rugged terrain, rain-soaked roads, and muddy tracks without hesitation. Its off-roading capabilities were truly put to the test, and I felt a sense of confidence knowing I was in a vehicle that could handle the challenges of the journey. As I wrapped up my journey, I was profoundly moved by the warmth and hospitality of the people I met. Every interaction, whether with a local shopkeeper in Hunza or a friendly family in Chiporsun Valley, filled me with a sense of belonging. The stories shared over cups of chai and the smiles exchanged in bustling markets enriched my appreciation for Pakistan’s rich culture. The vibrant colors of festivals, the melodies of local music, and the delicious flavors of traditional dishes all contributed to my love for this beautiful country. Each moment spent with its people left a lasting impression on my heart. I realized that my travels had only scratched the surface of what the northern regions have to offer.
