Whyalla Airport Runway Upgrade, South Australia

The $32M upgrade was officially opened by Tim Ayres, Peter Malinauskas, City of Whyalla, Qantas and Fulton Hogan. The upgrade has strengthened the airport’s runway to allow a larger aircraft to service the region, meaning more passengers can fly each year. 👷 We’re proud to say we worked with 31 local businesses and companies from the region and almost 50% of people inducted to our site were Whyalla locals. The project used 90% of local construction materials and was delivered three weeks ahead of schedule and under budget. 🚧 A special thank you to City of Whyalla for working closely and collaboratively, allowing us to deliver a range of community initiatives including a Civic car park, a competition for school aged children and a school tour for secondary students.
