Ahuva Ivri Adanani, an Ethiopian-Israeli living in Sderot, was at the police station on October 7th when Hamas terrorists overtook the city. As someone who works with the police, she found herself in the heart of the chaos—facing a level of fear she never imagined as an Israeli citizen. Miraculously, Ahuva escaped the massacre and was later evacuated to a hotel near the Dead Sea, where she lived for nearly 11 months. Today, she’s learning how to return to a “normal” life while carrying the trauma of survival—and still holding onto her dream of peace.
