ExcelユーザーがAIを活用するとき、非常に困ったことがあります。それは、ブックの状態をAIに伝える方法がないということです。たとえば、セル内の数式やVBAマクロがエラーになったとしましょう。その原因が、数式やコードにあるとは限りません。こんなことは、Excelユーザーであれば、誰もが経験しているはずです。列の位置が間違っていた。名前定義が間違っていた。実はセルが結合されていた。などなど、シートの状況や設定によってエラーが発生するケースは多いです。 では、AIにシートの状況や設定を、どうやって伝えればいいのでしょう。「ブックを添付すればいいのでは」と考えますよね。それでは意味がありません。なぜならAIは、シートやブックの状況や設定を見ることはできないからです。AIにブックを添付すると、AIは内部でブックをCSVに変換します。CSVに記録されるのはセルの値だけです。セル内の数式すら認識できません。ましてや名前定義、条件付き書式、入力規則、Power Queryのクエリなどは、一切わかりません。これでは、適切なアドバイスなどできるはずがありません。 それを解決するのが「ワークシート診断ツール」です。10数年前にマイクロソフトから依頼されて、私が作りました。誰でも無料で使えます。この診断ツールは、ブックの構造や設計をすべて抽出します。これなら、AIはブックの全容を理解できます。さらに診断ツールによる診断結果には、シート内に入力されている機密情報や顧客データなど、セルの値は一切含まれません。実務で使うブックをAIに添付するのは、コンプライアンスなどの理由から好ましくないでしょう。でも、診断結果の添付なら問題はありません。10年以上前に作ったツールですが、AI時代の今こそ、必須のツールと言えます。 「ワークシート診断ツール」は下記のページからダウンロードできます。 http://officetanaka.net/library/ ------------------------------------------------------------- When Excel users try to leverage AI, they face a significant challenge: there is no way to accurately convey the actual state of their workbook to the AI. For instance, suppose a formula or a VBA macro returns an error. The cause is not always within the formula or the code itself. Every experienced Excel user knows this. Perhaps a column position was wrong. Maybe a Named Range was incorrect. Or perhaps cells were merged. Errors often stem from the specific layout or settings of the sheet. You might think, "Why not just attach the workbook?" However, that is ineffective. AI cannot truly "see" the internal settings or structure of a sheet or workbook. When you attach a file, the AI converts it into a CSV format internally. This means it only recognizes cell values. It cannot see the formulas within cells, let alone Named Ranges, Conditional Formatting, Data Validation, or Power Query connections. Without this context, AI cannot provide appropriate advice. The "Worksheet Diagnostic Tool" solves this. I developed this tool over a decade ago at the request of Microsoft, and it is available to everyone for free. This tool extracts the entire structure and design of a workbook, allowing the AI to fully comprehend its scope. Furthermore, the diagnostic results contain only the structural metadata; they do not include any sensitive information, customer data, or actual cell values. While attaching production workbooks to an AI is often restricted due to compliance reasons, sharing the diagnostic results is perfectly safe.
