This goal was from a game on April 11th, 2006. The Leafs were desperately clinging to their playoff lives and needed this win badly. This is from the notorious season where J.S. Aubin took over the goaltending reigns late into the season and led the Leafs on an unbelievable run only to fall just short in the end. This is season is often held up as an example of everything that was wrong with the Leafs of this era- not good enough to make the playoffs but too good to end up with a top pick. This game is also perhaps best known as maybe Mats Sundin's best ever as a Toronto Maple Leaf as the Leafs scored 6 goals and Sundin amazingly had 4 goals and 2 assists. Kaberle ends up scoring the winning goal on the power play with 11 seconds left. The Leafs power play at this time was deadly with McCabe and Kaberle on the points and Sundin and Tucker up front. I've included the entire power plan to get a better feel for the situations. McCabe and Kaberle would dominate the power play at times. After the goal you can also see current analyst Jamie McLennan break his goal stick as he skates off the ice. It's really great to hear Joe Bowen and Harry Neale calling the game too.
