Leonotis leonurus, a beautiful autumn blooming plant with bright orange flowers. How I grow it in UK

Leonotis leonurus is a very unusual plant to grow in the UK: native to southern Africa, this plant grows up to 2 metres tall and is a gorgeous shrub with luscious green leaves, blooming between late summer and autumn in a profusion of tubular flowers, usually bright orange, but with white and yellow varieties also available. The flowers are slightly fragrant but is the amount of flowers that makes this plant really a showstopper. Leonotis leonurus is a plant that I found very easy to grow in full sun and well drained soil, and quite resistant to drought. It is hardy in USDA zone 8 therefore in most of the UK, otherwise in very cold climates can be protected in a conservatory or frost-free greenhouse.
