In this lesson we'll familiarize ourselves with the TECO SG2 client programming software used to program the TECO SG2 PLR, an inexpensive basic PLC. We'll familiarize ourselves with the software environment and use the software to write, save, edit, and manage programs, simulate a program, transfer a program to an actual device, and monitor an actual device running a real program. Not only does the use of programming software like TECO SG2 client programming software greatly simplify the program entry and editing process, the ability to work on a program offline without stopping the PLC reduces production downtime. Additionally, simulation makes it possible to test and verify functionality before going live with real world hardware in a production environment.
