On July 9th, 2025, at approximately 12:34AM, officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 BMW X4 at 3333 Piedmont Road NE after discovering that the driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver's license. The driver of the vehicle was asked to produce his license, however, he stated to the officer that he did not have it in his possession and falsely identified himself to the officer in an effort to conceal his true identity. After further questioning, the officer detained the driver to confirm his identity and while doing so, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. While conducting a pat-down search of the driver, the officer discovered a firearm concealed in the driver's pants. Additionally, a search of the driver's vehicle yielded several large plastic bags containing marijuana. Following a more thorough investigation, officers recovered from the driver and his vehicle over 5 pounds of marijuana, a handgun, and $3,457 USD. The driver was later identified as 31-year-old Mark Morrison. Mr. Morrison was charged with Driving While License Suspended, Illegal Window Tint, Providing a False Name to Police, Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of Drug Related Objects. Mr. Morrison was transported to the Fulton County Jail for processing. All arrests and photos are public information. An arrest does not mean that the individual has been or will be convicted of the crime. Individuals on this post/press release/video/website are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
