(1 Aug 2025) RESTRICTION SUMMARY: ASSOCIATED PRESS Deir al-Balah, central Gaza Strip - 1 August 2025 1. Wide of plane dropping aid over Gaza 2. Various of aid landing 3. Wide of plane dropping aid 4. Aid in sky 5. Various of aid landing STORYLINE: Cargo planes carried out airdrops Friday over Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. Seven cargo planes from countries including Jordan, Egypt, France and Germany were seen dropping aid over other areas in Gaza, including the southern city of Khan Younis, the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and Gaza City. Reporters with The Associated Press in Gaza said some of the aid had fallen in so-called red zones which had been put under evacuation orders by Israel. The Israeli military began limited pauses in fighting from Sunday in three populated areas of Gaza for 10 hours a day to allow access to aid as the leading international authority on food crises warned the “worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out in Gaza.” Though the flow of aid has resumed, including via airdrops, the amount getting into Gaza remains far lower than what aid organizations say is needed. A security breakdown in the territory has made it nearly impossible to safely deliver food to starving Palestinians, much of the limited aid entering is horded and later sold at exorbitant prices. Friday's airdrop came as U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff visited southern Gaza amid international outrage over starvation.
