West Point, Georgia - Small Town USA!

Georgia is simply full of small towns. Some are desolate and almost have disappeared while others, like West Point, seem to have been given a second chance. I remember when a lot more of these store fronts were empty. It makes me happy to see them being restored and useful once again. Hopefully this trend will continue going forward. When I was growing up, we didn't go to West Point very often so it was a treat when we did go there to shop. It was like going to a far away place even though we were just a few miles beyond where we normally shopped. I suppose it was just because it was not as familiar as what we would call regular "town". These shops were not chain stores. No Wal-Mart, no K-Mart, but instead were locally owned and operated and they sold things we couldn't find in other stores.
