How to Fix Bitdefender Firewall blocking network printer

In this video you will learn how to troubleshoot network printing issues on your endpoint(s). The Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) comes with a Firewall module and Some of its settings can block communication with network printers. To troubleshoot this issue, we will need to create a new rule in GravityZone Web Console and edit a couple other configurations. 1.To enable network printing: Log in to GravityZone Web Console. 2. Navigate to Policies and click the policy applied to the affected endpoint(s). 3. In the Policies page, select Firewall to reveal the drop-down list of editing options. 4. Click Settings to edit. 5. Under Adapters set all adapters to Yes in the Network Discovery column. 6. Click Save. 7. Under Firewall select Rules to further edit. 8. Click Add and choose Application as a rule type. 9. In the Add Firewall Rule window, complete a few fields with the following information: -Rule Name: type a name of your choice for the rule -Application Path: C:\Windows\System32\spoolsv.exe -Local Address: Any -Remote Address: insert the printer IP address 10.Leave all other settings with their default values and click Save. You can see the new rule in the Rules list(see the image below). 11.Set the Network Printing rule to Allow in the Permission column. 12. Click Save. 13. Apply the policy to your endpoints and check if network printing is available.
