The Battle of Coruscant was a crucial battle that took place in 19 BBY on the surface and in orbit of the planet Coruscant, the capital world of the Galactic Republic, during the waning days of the Clone Wars. In an attempt to turn the war in their favor, as the Republic's experienced officers and Jedi Generals were preoccupied with the Outer Rim Sieges, Separatist leaders Head of State Count Dooku and Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies General Grievous launched a massive and unprecedented assault on the Republic capital.
