As beginner trekkers with no experience, we decided to challenge ourselves and attempt to solo trek Nepal (with no guide or porter) following the original route to Everest Base Camp that begins in Jiri, instead of flying to Lukla. We will also attempt the 3 passes trek and Gokyo as part of this journey to see how far we can go with our two feet, a lot of ambition and one goal of having the ultimate adventure here in the Himalayas of Nepal. Permits you need for this trek: Gaurishankar Conservation Area Permit - Get in Shiavalaya, only applicable if trekking between Jiri and Lukla. Trekking Card, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality - Get at checkpoint when leaving Lukla. Sagarmatha National Park Permit - Get in Monjo village checkpoint between Lukla and Namche Bazaar. (You buy them all during the trek, they all cost 3,000 NPR / $22 USD each, per person). Where we stayed: New Sagarmatha Guesthouse (Jiri) Kalo Patthar Lodge (Shivalaya) Highland Sherpa Guesthouse (Deurali) Riverside Guesthouse (Kinja) Sonam Guesthouse (Dakchu) Hotel Kunsal (Junbesi) Everest View Lodge (Phurteng - Everest Viewpoint) Shangri-La Guesthouse (Nunthala) Bupsa Guesthouse (Bupsa) Everest Trail Lodge (Surke) Everest Plaza (Lukla) Old Town Guesthouse (Lukla) Hotel Waterfall (Benkar) Hotel 8848 (Namche Bazaar) Tengboche Guesthouse (Tengboche) Beyul Alpine Cottage (Pangboche) Heritage Mountain Inn (Dingboche) Mother Earth (Lobuche) Snowland Highest Inn (Gorak Shep) Green Valley Lodge (Dzongla) Tashi Delek Lodge (Dragnag) Thanka Inn (Gokyo) Eat Smart - Some of the best food in town & we stayed here too (Namche Bazaar) For more in depth information on planning, packing, costs and everything you need to know if you’re doing this trek for the first time - (coming soon) This trekking movie took place in October 2024. 📖 Get Our Ultimate Laos 🇱🇦 Travel Guide 👉 https://travelsontoast.creator-spring... 📖 Get Our Ultimate Malaysia 🇲🇾 Travel Guide E-BOOK Here: https://travelsontoast.creator-spring...
