This video shows the final stages of polishing a Japanese style tanto blade he forged from self-smelted tamahagane. Bladesmith Walter Sorrells uses modern non-traditional methods of polishing which yield results similar to -- but not the same as -- those used by traditional Japanese polishers to reveal the hamon and grain structure of this folded-steel blade.
