God sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him! Many mistakenly conclude from this statement that this means the Son of God pre-existed the incarnation as a different eternal Person from God the Father in the beginning. This belief is forced into the text because of false presuppositions caused by believing popular traditions of men. When we allow Scripture to interpret Scripture, examining everything in its context, outside of popular tradition, it becomes abundantly clear that it was the one singular God, whose name is Yahweh, who was manifest in the flesh. He was the one who caused conception to occur in Mary's womb, thereby fathering and sending forth His Son. Yahweh, the one singular God, sent Jesus into the world by manifesting in the flesh, taking upon Himself a human existence as a man, by adding human nature to His divine existence. Galatians 4:4 tells us that God's Son was made of a woman, made under the law and it took place in the fulness of time. All in reference to the virgin birth when God conceived in Mary's womb a Son by manifesting in the flesh. Luke 1:35 makes it clear that the reason Jesus would be called the Son of God was BECAUSE the Holy Ghost overshadowed Mary and caused conception to occur in her womb. The title "Son of God" was given to Jesus because God literally fathered Jesus in Mary's womb; God was manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). The title "Son of God" is not in reference to God in the beginning before God was manifest in the flesh. Understanding the kenosis of Philippians 2:5-8 and the hypostatic union that occurred in and through the incarnation helps us understand how God sent His Son into the world by manifesting in the flesh, helping us to see the distinction between Father and Son as incarnational between God as He exists transcendent to His incarnation as omnipresent Spirit and as He now exists as a genuine man through His incarnation. John 1:6 tells us that John the Baptist was a man sent from God. Does this mean we are to believe that John existed before his birth in order for him to be sent from God? Of course not! We must rightly divide the Word of truth. In this video we will learn that the Son of God did not need to exist as a different eternal Person next to God the Father before Jesus was born in order for God to send forth His only begotten Son. God sent forth His Son by manifesting in the flesh, becoming a man through His incarnation. The Son was hid (concealed, kept secret) in God (His foreordained plan, His heart) as the divine expression of love and God spoke all things into existence through the Son in this manner. This is how the Lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world, even though we know it actually happened on a particular day in the first century in the fulness of time. The Father's divine expression of love was made flesh (expressed/revealed in the flesh): the Word was made flesh! God was manifest in the flesh. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is Yahweh's (the Father's) love and kindness toward us. God the Father's love is expressed through His incarnation in the flesh (the Word was made flesh/God became a man). 1 John 4:7-8 shows us that love is of God (from/with Him) and that God is love. Love was with God as the divine expression and God is love and He (love) was manifest in the flesh. Jesus Christ is the love of God toward us (love manifested). Combining all of this understanding with 1 John 4:14-16 reveals to us that Jesus is the love that God hath to us. Believing that Jesus is the Son of God (God incarnate - fully God, fully man - Yahweh is salvation) is believing the love that God hath to us. God the Father (Yahweh) showed His love for us by manifesting in the flesh; that's how He sent forth His Son into the world! We can understand so much about Father and Son distinctions by understanding the hypostatic union that occurred when the one singular God was manifest in the flesh. God fathered Jesus in Mary's womb, contributing His deity and part of His humanity for conception to occur in Mary's womb. This is how Jesus proceeded forth and came from God (John 8:42). God literally manifested in the flesh, becoming a man. This is how God sent forth His only begotten Son into the world so that we could live through Him! Praise the one true God for all that He has done for us!
