Originally released on the PS1 in Japan on March 26, 1998 (North America: August 17, 1998), Kartia: Word of Fate is a tactical JRPG by Atlus that blends grid-based battles with its signature “Kartia” magic system. In this short gameplay clip, we jump into Toxa’s first battle - a first taste of the combat flow, early summons/spells, and a quick glimpse at how fast positioning and resource management start to matter. Story setup: Toxa Classico is a free knight who joins Ele, Count Shinon’s daughter, on a rescue mission. That mission puts them in contact with the druid Mona, whose forbidden “original” Kartia helps ignite the wider conflict.
