Don't Look Down! West Fork Teanaway

We set out to clear remaining logs, do some brushing and trail ledging on the West Fork Teanaway Trail #1353 after two years of the trail being blocked from the Jolly Mountain Fire. Fortunately many motorcycle riding volunteers had been working the trail over the summer of 2018 and into summer of 2019 clearing downed timber from the fire so we focused on brushing and some ledging of the tread. This is the lower 2/3s or so of the trail that has the most exposure. You may notice the pace is a little slower. I have a lot of weight in my pack with trail tools and a recovery rope, and that really raises my center of gravity. Also there are many spots on this trail where you don't want to make any mistakes, so a slower pace is advised. This is an expert trail for sure, there are sections I am not showing that require much more technical riding skills. If you are planning to ride this trail also check flows of the Teanaway River system, there are several crossings that will be very hazardous at any levels above the July/August flow rates.
