In this video, I cover how to use the 80-20 tool within the Crime Analysis Add-In for more of a Law of Crime Concentration approach. Not exactly the intended purpose of the tool but still helpful. I joined violent incidents from 2022 to street segments to identify high violence street segments. There are limitations to this approach given the output, but this is also a quick tool to explore the distribution. Note of caution would be with the cumulative percent of streets since our input of crime incidents is less than the total amount of street segments. That is, even every aggravated assault/homicide occurred on a separate street segment (1), there would be thousands of streets with no violence (0).
