※ This video is part of the program "Primitive Exploration of Humanity - The World's Smallest People, Pygmies," broadcasted on August 16, 2013. Pygmies refer to people anthropologically defined as adults with an average height of less than 150cm, presumed to be indigenous to tropical rainforests since early times. The forest serves as their life backdrop, a sanctuary of worship providing solace. They obtain most necessities from the forest, engaging in livelihoods such as hunting, gathering honey, insects, and wild plants. They also move through the forest every two weeks to a month in search of prey, without settling in specific locations. Therefore, they live in temporary shelters called 'mongulus,' constructed with branches as frames and large leaves as roofing, enabling easy migration. Despite being chased by larger tribes, they maintain a peaceful existence through innate optimism and dance. Compared to other tribes, Pygmies mature early; typically, girls marry from around 10 years old and boys around 13. They establish new families by marrying Pygmies from different villages, as intermarriage within the same lineage or village is prohibited. Although rare to spend a lifetime wandering the forest and living with other families for extended periods, they consider neighboring tribes as one family while roaming the same forest. Thus, families and villagers prepare eagerly for 'Espera's wedding ceremony. They meticulously craft a new home for the newlyweds and traditional skirts for the bride, exchange wild chickens caught during hunts for cassava, and gather neighborhood children to welcome guests. Finally, on the wedding day, Pygmies and members of other tribes from neighboring villages gather in celebration. Some Pygmies, adhering to monogamous principles, emphasize personal decisions when selecting a spouse. Therefore, offering food to the prospective spouse during the wedding ceremony expresses intent to marry and formalizes the union. Will 'Espera' be able to establish marital bonds? ✔ Program Title: Primitive Exploration of Humanity - The World's Smallest People, Pygmies ✔ Broadcast Date: August 16, 2013
