While it might look like almost identical to the full-strength Lexus RCF Coupe, especially in this hard-to-miss paintjob - this is in fact, the considerably less expensive RC350 F-Sport. Instead of shelling out around $135,000 (plus on roads), this V6 version will only set you back $74,000 – or over 60 grand less than its V8-powered big brother. We reckon it’s the sweet spot in the RCF range – and I can’t wait to show why. For starters – It certainly looks the business with a bold design that sets it well apart from anything from Audi, BMW or Mercedes-Benz. Even the paint is special: with the Lexus Coupe benefitting from a five-layer paint process – a first for the brand and in fact a first for a production car – according to Lexus. Apart from the slight bonnet bulge and the quad exhaust pipes, the differences between this and the RCF amount to a few minor details like wheels and larger front air intakes – It will also cost you anywhere from $10,000-30,000 less than any of its two-door rivals. Under the bonnet is a 3.5-litre free-spinning V6 petrol engine putting out 233kW and 378Nm to the rear wheels via a silky-smooth 8-speed auto with paddle shifters. Put the boot in and this coupe will hustle from 0-100km/h in just 6.1 seconds and in the real world – well, it’s got plenty of poke if you need to pass a slower driver.
