Yo guys. This is a video about whether I would crimp or solder wires that are 22 AWG and smaller (24 AWG, 26 AWG, 28 AWG, 30 AWG, 32 AWG). In my tests, I find that a well done crimp and a well done solder will both hold extremely well, with the weak point being the wire's insulation. However, achieving and inspecting a well done solder + heat shrink is easier than getting the same results with a butt connector due to the hidden nature of butt connectors. Not just that but the soldered + heat shrink connection takes up less space and looks nicer.
