2020 Europe Trip During Coronavirus Outbreak

USA to Europe trip at the height of the coronavirus pandemic when travel restrictions very being put in place. Italy was on lockdown, France and Spain experienced high rates of infection, and the USA enforced travel restrictions from Europe on the same day we traveled back home to New York. The plan was to rent a car and drive from Barcelona to Nice, and then to Italy. The cities we planned to go to in Italy were Pisa, Florence, Bologna, Venice, Milan, Turin. We even wanted to drive a Ferrari at the Iconic Monza Formula one circuit and visit the Ferrari Museum in Maranello. That plan changed on the fly as events developed and Italy shut down most of those cities. We ended up travelling to Paris instead and to other cities in France, only to learn that things there wasn't much better. On top of all that, we returned home to New York to developing stories of rapid rates of daily infections. Overall, our vacation was bitter sweet with it being the first time visiting Europe, but to know that it happened when the world is going through so much pain is just heartbreaking for us. In any case, we had fun and will cherish the memories for a lifetime.
