KODIAK ELK: The Most Difficult Hunt in North America | Homestead Survival

What started as a regular hunting trip quickly became one of the most intense experiences we've had in the Alaskan wilderness. When Lars spotted that bull elk, we had no idea what we were in for. The shot was good, but then the elk went down in the middle of the lake. Most people would have given up right there, but Lars wasn't about to lose that much meat. What he did next was absolutely crazy - and we got it all on camera. Between the elk recovery, multiple deer, and some unexpected crabbing, this trip had everything. The radio chatter when Lars got his elk will give you chills. You can hear the excitement and concern in our voices as we tried to figure out how to get that massive animal out of the water. This is what real hunting in Alaska looks like - not always pretty, definitely not easy, but always an adventure. Sometimes you have to make split-second decisions that seem insane to outsiders but make perfect sense when you're living off the land.
