More videos at http://www.andalusianstories.com Tomás Gómez Cía is a doctor born in Pamplona who arrived to Seville in the 80's to do his residency at the Plastic Surgery Unit at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville and today he is the head of this department. In 2010 coordinated the first face transplant in Andalusia, which was also the second in Spain and the ninth in the world. Taking innovation to operation rooms is his challenge, that's why he directs the Innovation Program of the Health Strategic Plan in R&D of the Andalusian Government. He is focused in virtual reality and now he is preparing to perform a hands transplant. Until now only 3 have been performed in Spain.
