Bangalore to Ooty via Bandipur & Masinagudi | 36 Hairpin Bends | Triumph Scrambler 400X Kannada Vlog

Start your ride with me from Bidadi after breakfast and join this full-day adventure from Bengaluru to Ooty on my Triumph Scrambler 400X. In this Day 1 Kannada motovlog, we take the scenic route: NICE Road → Bidadi → Maddur → Malavalli → Bandipur → Mudumalai → Masinagudi → Ooty, mixing highway cruising, wildlife forests and a steep ghat climb into the Nilgiris. Before the real adventure begins, I quickly recap my recent monsoon ride, the places I covered and a bad experience with my stock headlight in heavy rains. That’s why, for this Ooty ride, I’ve upgraded to auxiliary lights. I share which lights I chose, why I picked Mad Dog Scout X over options like HJG and Vaishnu touring lights, how much they cost, and why I prefer aux lights instead of a full headlight replacement. I also talk about the risks of using auxiliary lights on Indian roads and some simple tips to use them safely and responsibly. After crossing Malavalli (and a much-needed power nap thanks to a sleepless night), the scenery opens up with distant hills, dams and green farmlands. The real fun begins as we enter Bandipur, spotting deer, peacocks and monkeys along the forest road and comparing this side of Bandipur to the Wayanad–Bandipur route I’ve taken earlier. I also show you the spot where a rider was attacked by elephants a few months back and talk about realistic expectations of seeing elephants here in the afternoon. ​ Things get tense when my fuel hits reserve deep inside the forest and the bike starts stalling, making it irritating to ride while I hunt for the next petrol pump. On the way I also show the forest gate-timing board and share the access timings for this stretch, which is important for anyone planning a Bangalore–Ooty ride through Bandipur and Mudumalai. After the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu check-post, the vibe changes instantly as we enter Mudumalai Tiger Reserve – road quality improves, the forest gets denser and greener, and the surroundings feel wilder. We take the thrilling Masinagudi / Kalhatty Ghat route, famous for its steep climb and 36 tight hairpin bends over roughly 25–30 km, considered one of the most challenging yet scenic hill roads into Ooty with panoramic Nilgiri views. Traffic is lighter here, so the forest feels more untouched and dreamy, with clouds hanging over the hills and animals occasionally by the roadside. We stop at Masinagudi town for snacks and fuel, then attack the hairpins. I share this hill climb in an ASMR style segment—no talking, just the Scrambler 400X exhaust singing through the bends as the temperature drops and cloud-covered peaks slowly appear. On the way a deer suddenly crosses right in front of my bike, adding to the wild experience. As we reach Ooty by around 5 PM, light drizzle kicks in, making the hill station even more magical.
