If you would like to be on the grid at SRi, why not head to our official Discord? / discord Today marks Round 9 of the SimRacing International (SRi) GTE Championship Season 1 as brought to you on iRacing! For our penultimate round we head to Italy for the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. More commonly associated with racing on two wheels, this 3.25 mile circuit’s fast-flowing combination of 15 corners shall require our drivers to get into a rhythm from the outset as every mile per hour gained at one corner shall be transferable to the next. If they find themselves off-beat, a battle with their rivals shall quickly find them at this wide open track! In the ELITE class, in overcoming a close race-long battle with Tim Perry last round to take his sixth win, Mirko Bortolotti has increased his lead to 16 points. Another win today would take pressure off Bortolotti heading into next week’s finale, but count on his rivals of Martin Stattmann; Miguel Leon; and Perry to do their upmost to make him feel uncomfortable today! In the PRO class, whilst he may have fallen just short of taking the win from Ángel Ordóñez at Interlagos, Benjamin Massey’s second place finish has seen him re-open his lead over Rene Rössler to 24 points. The pressure now sits with Rössler to respond following his fourth place finish last week, can he find a way to interrupt Massey’s formidable form? In the INTER class, GPX Simsport Xenon’s Jon Ludbrook and Andrew Fellows have returned to the top following their one-two finish in Brazil. With the former leading the latter by 33 points after his third win of the season, a fourth today would make taking the title a near formality in Japan, but Ludbrook shall be expecting fierce resistance from his rivals! Who shall head into the season finale with momentum on their side? Tune in and find out!
