This is a remake of Haunted Woods from Diddy Kong Racing modernized and adapted to take advantage of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's gameplay while still maintaining spirit of the original's breakneck pace. This was intended to be a quick project I started a few months ago while I got burned out on making another custom track. I chose to remake Haunted Woods not really because of its gameplay but because I thought it would be a fun project to model given it's a relatively small track, but features several different environments in its short runtime. However, I ended up getting sick and needing surgery so the quick project ballooned into a quarter of the year. Still, I'm very pleased with the end result: there's a few minor nitpicks I still have with the course that I may change at a later date but I figured there was no sense letting this thing collect more dust while I mull over a couple minor changes. The course has been tested on console and didn't seem to exhibit any performance issues in single or 2-player handheld, but my modded Switch is broken and cannot output a signal to a dock so I was unable to test docked or 3/4 player play.
