Black midwives built the foundation of birth justice in Miami — and today, Southern Birth Justice Network is leading the movement to build South Florida’s first nonprofit, Black-led Birth & Wellness Center. Birth justice began in Miami through the leadership of Black midwives, birthworkers, families, and community organizers. Now, SBJN is creating a permanent home for culturally grounded, midwife-led care rooted in dignity, access, and community. This film honors legacy. It celebrates the families who trust birth workers with their most sacred moments. And it invites you to help build what comes next. Support South Florida’s First Nonprofit Birth & Wellness Center.
